Hull Rupture Artifacts and Modifiers: Read Effects Before Buying
Separate artifact unlocks from module modifiers, avoid old demo icon mistakes and check whether an effect actually supports your current ship.
Why can an old artifact picture mislead you?
Konfa Games’ launch FAQ explicitly warns that artifact names and icons changed. In some cases, an icon previously used for one artifact now represents a different artifact. The same FAQ says demo artifact unlocks do not carry into the full game.
Use the current item’s name, effect and unlock text. A matching picture from a demo guide is not enough to identify it. If your main concern is lost progress, start with returning from the demo or the personalized return checker.
How do artifacts differ from module modifiers?
The combat log describes artifacts as an important part of the build: some support the economy, while others make particular defensive approaches stronger. The exploration log gives a more specific definition of modifiers: upgrades installed in individual ship modules.
That distinction changes what you should inspect:
| Effect you are considering | Read before committing |
|---|---|
| Economy-focused artifact | Which part of the economy benefits, and under what conditions? |
| Defense-focused artifact | Which weapons or defensive behavior does it improve? |
| Module modifier | Which module receives it, and what action or resource condition activates it? |
| Adjacency effect | Which neighboring modules qualify, and can your layout actually support them? |
Do not assume that every bonus is always active or applies to every module. Current effect text is more useful than a rarity label or a remembered icon.
Can you buy every modifier at a shop?
The exploration devlog says shop and narrative-event modifiers draw from largely different pools. Some shop modifiers do not appear in events, while most event modifiers cannot be purchased.
This means repeatedly looking in the same source may not find the effect you want. It does not provide exact drop odds or an exhaustive location list. Decide whether your current route can reasonably support searching another source, or whether the ship should adapt to the equipment already available.
Galaxy route planning explains that decision and the resource requirements some event choices impose.
How can one condition change a whole production plan?
The August exploration log gives a concrete example: a Mineral Generator modifier improves output only while Mystic Goo stays below a stated amount. The example illustrates a conditional effect, not an instruction to use a particular release-build modifier name or threshold from an old screenshot.
The practical check is simple: identify what activates the effect, what would switch it off, and whether another part of your ship pushes you past that condition. Then compare the benefit with what you would give up to preserve it.
Use production and Info Mode to distinguish the current rate from a sustainable future balance. For a defensive effect, check alien routes and turrets before spending around a gun that has no useful firing lane.
Where are the final artifact unlock conditions?
This site does not yet provide a verified complete release-artifact database. The developer says final conditions differ from the demo, which is precisely why an old unlock list should not be promoted into a current one.
Read the condition shown in your installed full game. If it appears satisfied but an unlock is absent, record the artifact name, its displayed requirement and the run result for the official discussion area. Steam achievement conditions are a separate dataset; use the achievement planner for those rather than assuming every achievement description unlocks an artifact.
Which sources explain these distinctions?
- Launch FAQ: artifact reset and changed names/icons.
- Exploration devlog: installed modifiers, reward pools and conditional effects.
- Combat devlog: artifacts and defensive build choices.
